Spiranthes, a genus of terrestrial orchids, comprises of about 300 species widely distributed throughout the world, from Asia to Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. Spiranthes sinensis is probably one of the most widespread species around.
 
Spiranthes sinensis, also known as Ladies' Tresses, comprises of 3 to 10 narrow leaves up to 10 cm long. It can grow up to 45 cm tall with 10 to 60 flowers. Its flowers' colour varies from translucent white to bright pink and occur in long, slender, twisted spikes of inflorescences.

 

 Spiranthes sinensis is our focus this quarter for having beautiful combination in size, colour and arrangement.
